Earth Day GreenUp

Thanks to all the incredible volunteers who helped keep our neighborhoods and paths clean by coming to this year's Earth Day GreenUp on March 26th.  The volunteers met at Falconwing Park and collected trash that contributed to the annual 4,500lbs of litter that is normally collected during GreenUp. In addition, with every volunteer that attended this worthwhile event, ISVA can increase the senior scholarship amounts that are given to deserving graduating seniors annually.

Hurricane Preparedness

With Hurricane season quickly approaching, it is never too early to start collecting information and supplies in preparation for a storm. Flooding, power outages, sewer backups, internet disruptions and the like are common during and after these massive storms. Make sure to gather needed supplies for everyone in your home (including pets) at least three days before a storm. In addition, keep important documents in a safe and dry place, including password-protected digital copies. Staying informed with real time unbiased information on weather, creek levels and flood maps. Here are the sites I’ve found to be very informative during any major storm.
